At last, this long-deleted Broadway cast recording from 1957 is available again, on CD for the very first time and including bonus tracks! The musical is based on stories by celebrated poet Langston Hughes, with lyrics by Hughes himself and music by David Martin.

A tribute CD to the legendary Vivian Blaine, who originated the role of Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls on Broadway and in the film co-starring Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. This CD features 27 tracks recorded in the 1950s, when she was in her prime, paying tribute to Broadway impresario Mr. Ziegfeld with songs from the Ziegfeld Follies.

Someone Like You is a musical love story set in the American Civil War, with music and lyrics by Petula Clark and Dee Shipman. The show was performed in London in 1989, starring iconic performer Petula Clark and West End leading man Dave Willetts, but the score was never recorded. This 2007 release is a new recording of the show featuring songs performed in the original touring & London productions, and boasts the talents of Debi Doss, Andrew Derbyshire, and Lewis Rae (who was featured in the original West End production). A must for all lovers of music theatre; will also appeal to those with an interest in the Civil War.

The latest musical from Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Dessa Rose, A Man of No Importance, Once on this Island). Loving Repeating was premiered in Chicago earlier this year, produced by The About Face Theatre in conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art. With the entire libretto and lyrics taken from Gertrude Stein’s writings, this is one of the few musicals to explore women’s conditions and gay sexuality.

The first nine tracks here are from the film soundtrack of the fifties musical 3 Sailors and a Girl, starring Gordon MacRae and Jane Powell. Gordon MacRae was the baritone star of classic movie musicals Oklahoma! and Carousel, while Jane Powell was the star of movie musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and many other MGM films. London Town, made in London in 1946, was the first major British Technicolor musical film. No expenses were spared, with director Wesley Ruggles, song composers Burke & Van Heusen, and musical director Tutti Camarata all imported from the U.S. The film starred a host of home-grown talent: comedian Sid Field, Greta Gynt, Tessie O’Shea, Kay Kendall, Beryl Davis, and the young Petula Clark. This CD soundtrack release celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of this important and historical British film!

This CD release features the long unavailable 1955 Original London Cast recording of the musical, which is currently enjoying a successful revival on Broadway. One hundred years ago, Las Vegas – the glittering oasis of the Nevada desert – was born, and the famous Strip was created on a grand scale. To celebrate 100 years of Las Vegas entertainment, Japanese composer Fumio Yasuda adapted and orchestrated some of the greatest show tunes ever written, all with German-born singer Theo Bleckmann in mind. Bleckmann, who sings with a cultivated, pure and deeply personal voice, never emerges as the interpreter of the works; instead, he becomes each song, fusing his persona, the text and the melody into a united front. The close artistic understanding between Bleckmann and Yasuda is palpable in every stage of this production!

The Buccaneer, a musical about the fortunes of a traditional English boys' magazine, was composer Sandy Wilson's follow-up to worldwide success The Boy Friend. This disc also features selections from Romance in Candlelight, which starred a young Sally Ann Howes, and The Lisbon Story, a hit wartime musical starring Patricia Burke. The Buccaneer and Romance in Candlelight have never been available on CD!

English composer Vivian Ellis had a prolific career spanning five decades, during which she wrote nearly 70 West End shows. The Water Gipsies was a 1955 collaboration between Ellis and A.P.Herbert. This disc contains the cast recording of The Water Gipsies plus bonus tracks including early Ellis compositions, many appearing on CD for the first time!

Salad Days was one of the two longest-running 1950s English musicals in the West End, the other being The Boy Friend. This disc features the original London cast recording plus bonus tracks including selections from The Duenna and Salad Days, performed by composer Julian Slade.

The Jazz Train was an American import that played in the West End in 1955 – a celebration of black musical achievement that starred many American performers including Tony-nominated Bertice Reading. Bonus tracks feature rare recordings by Bertice Reading, Marie Bryant, Elisabeth Welch and The Peters Sisters – many on CD for the first time!
