Recorded at Toronto’s Glenn Gould Studio by Anton Kwiatkowski, Folklore takes the listener on a folk-inspired journey, featuring the works by Stravinsky, Janácek and Cassadò. No stranger to awards, grants and high profile accolades, Elle Magazine named Djokic one of Canada’s 30 Most Powerful Women and the young roll model has also received the East Coast Music Award for her debut self-titled released on Sony Classical.

David Jalbert's personal style, incomparable stage presence and refined ear, has impressed audiences and critics alike. Jalbert has recorded two cello and piano discs with Denise Djokic and has a solo disc of the complete Faure Nocturnes scheduled for release on Endeavour Classics, April 2006.

Portland, OR - February 23, 2005 - Founded nearly 25 years ago, Allegro Corporation is well established as one of North America’s leading independent entertainment distributors. ESP – DISK: Founded by music lawyer Bernard Stollman, ESP-DISK opened for business in New York City in 1966. Among the artists who made their debuts as leaders on ESP were Gato Barbieri, Bob James, Marion Brown, Sun Ra, Roswell Rudd, Burton Greene, Patty Waters, Henry Grimes, Charles Tyler, Albert Ayler, Noah Howard, Sunny Murray, Milford Graves and Frank Wright. In 2005, ESP is back into the U.S. market after licensing masters in Europe throughout the '90s. This is the first full- fledged movement from ESP since they originally shuttered their doors in the '70s. Classic albums in the ESP catalog include Sun Ra's Heliocentric Worlds Vol. I & II and Pearls Before Swine's – both have been re-mastered for release. Other titles will include bonus tracks and/or interviews and updated liner notes. Previously un-issued titles include the long-rumored existence of Sun Ra Heliocentic Worlds Vol III, and Albert Ayler Live on the Riviera. Plans for 2006 include box set releases of material recorded in the '50s and '60s from Miles Davis and Billy Holiday.

JOHANNE'S FACE: Two long-time friends, Marc Ruvolo and Gar Brandt, cooked up Johann's Face Records in Chicago, 1989. Both Marc and Gar wanted to document the snowballing Chicago punk scene by releasing records that they believed deserved a wider audience. The label would go on to release over 50 other titles, launching the careers of such legendary punk bands as The Smoking Popes, the Alkaline Trio, The Strike, Sludgeworth, Apocalypse Hoboken, and No Empathy as well as doing records for already-established bands such as Scared of Chaka and Zoinks!.

TIMES BEACH: Times Beach Records is an independent label created by artists for artists catering to all things American Pop: Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, R&B and Hip-Hop. Think "Americana With an Edge," if you will. The labels Artists all manifest this philosophy. Whether it be Ethan Daniel Davidson, a traveling troubadour in the old world sense, but with a deep and modern sense of popular music history or MAN, a misanthropic, minimalist, punk rock pseudo-performance artist without the pretense, the labels roster of artists share at least two qualities: Integrity and Passion for Music.

CORNERSTONE RAS: Upon renewing its distribution agreement with NAIL Distribution, Cornerstone RAS, will be releasing a Sublime tribute CD entitled Look at all the Love we Found...A Tribute To Sublime. PINK MARTINI HANG ON LITTLE TOMATO SWEEPS AMAZON CHARTS AT #1

Portland, OR - December 2004 - Two weeks after Pink Martini's long-awaited sophomore release hit the streets, Hang on Little Tomato sweeps the retail charts, coming in at #1 on Amazon.com. Additionally, Hang on Little Tomato was reported at #153 on the Billboard 200 chart, #8 on the Top Heatseekers chart and #13 in the Top Independent Album chart.

A boost in sales was recently reported after Pink Martini was featured on NPR's Weekend Edition. Host, Scott Simon, interviewed the ensemble on Saturday, October 30th about their distinctive sound. In addition, Pink Martini recently performed live on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. Upon the airing of the event, retail outlets reported an over-abundance of interest for the bands releases.

Pink Martini's debut album, Sympathique, was released on the band's own independent label, Heinz Records and has sold over 650,000 copies worldwide. Nominated for "Song of the Year" and "Best New Artist" in France's Victoires de la Musique awards, Sympathique has gone Platinum in France and Gold in Greece.

Somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini. Part language lesson, part Hollywood musical, the Portland, Oregon-based "little orchestra" was created in 1994 by Harvard-graduate Thomas M. Lauderdale to play at political fundraisers for progressive causes such as public broadcasting, clean water, libraries, civil rights and affordable housing.

Pink Martini and Heinz Records are distributed in North America by NAIL Distribution, a division of the Allegro Corporation. For more information about Sympathique and Hang On Little Tomato, please visit www.naildistribution.com, www.allegro-music.com or www.pinkmartini.com

PINK MARTINI TO RELEASE LONG-AWAITED SECOND ALBUM "HANG ON LITTLE TOMATO" ON OCTOBER 19, 2004

Portland, OR - December 2004 - Somewhere between a 1930s Cuban dance orchestra, a classical chamber music ensemble, a Brazilian marching street band and Japanese film noir is the 12-piece Pink Martini. The group's much-anticipated second album, Hang on Little Tomato, arrives in stores on October 19, 2004.

In the years following, Pink Martini has gone on to perform its multi-lingual repertoire on concert stages, in smoky clubs and with symphony orchestras throughout Europe (including France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland and Monte Carlo), Greece, Turkey, Taiwan, Lebanon and the United States.

Pink Martini's debut album, Sympathique, was released on the band's own independent label, Heinz Records (after Lauderdale's dog Heinz) and has sold over 650,000 copies worldwide. Nominated for "Song of the Year" and "Best New Artist" in France's Victoires de la Musique awards, Sympathique has gone Platinum in France and Gold in Greece.

Hang on Little Tomato, Pink Martini’s second album, features mostly original songs written by the band and its extended family. Drawing on themes articulated in the first album, Hang on Little Tomato is the result of the group’s diverse collaborations and inspirations. Drawing inspiration from an advertisement for Hunt’s Ketchup from a 1964 issue of LIFE magazine to a dance sequence in the 1950 Italian film Anna, Hang on Little Tomato includes songs in French, Italian, Japanese, Croatian, Spanish and English.

“Una Notte a Napoli,” for example, was written with Alba Clemente – an Italian stage and television star in the 1970s – and DJ Johnny Dynell of the legendary New York-based nightclub Jackie 60. In a reworking of the Japanese song “Kikuchiyo to Mohshimasu,” Pink Martini collaborated and recorded in Japan with Hiroshi Wada, the slide guitarist whose group originally recorded and released the song 40 years ago.

Building its legacy through word of mouth, high-profile symphony dates, fashionable private events and prominent placement in film and television, Pink Martini has returned with their much anticipated follow-up to Sympathique. Hang on Little Tomato is every bit the new album fans have been longing for.
