The Kanenhi:io Singers consist of four women from different First Nations who all reside at the Wahta Mowhawk Territory in Ontario, Canada. The name Kanenhi:io is a Mohawk word, meaning "the good seeds," which represents the songs, teachings and good way of life that the group shares with all others. Their songs vary from traditional to contemporary; with the use of hand or water drum, cow horn rattles and exquisite vocals, Kanenhi:io Singers form sounds and harmonies that are spiritually uplifting to their audiences. They were nominated for a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Contemporary/Traditional CD!
